Hackers have been busy recently 📈 :
Maxar Space Systems, a U.S. satellite manufacturer, was breached by hackers using a Hong Kong-based IP, exposing sensitive employee data.
DeFi lending platform Polter finance suffered a $12 million loss after a cyberattack exploited a newly deployed smart contract, draining user assets.
Hacker claims responsibility for Softway medical group data breach, exposing 750,000 patient records.
A cyberattack on gambling giant IGT disrupted its systems, forcing the company to take certain services offline.
Security flaw in Microsoft power pages led to the leak of personal records for 1.1 million NHS employees.
GEICO and Travelers settle for $11.3M over data breaches exposing 120,000 New York residents information.
iLearningEngines, an AI company, disclosed a cyberattack that led to the theft of a $250,000 wire payment, with the hacker redirecting the funds and deleting key emails.
Significant security breach exposes the personal data of nearly 900,000 users registered on the FlipaClip animation app.
Russian cyber-espionage group breached a US company by hacking a neighboring firm’s network and connecting to the victim's internal WiFi.
Misconfigured server on the Forces Penpals social network has exposed the personal data of over 1.1 million military users, including images, SSNs, addresses, and proof of service documents.
The Real World website, founded by Andrew Tate, was hacked, exposing the email addresses of 325,000 users.
Business Email Compromise (BEC) group hacked a car dealership’s systems to reroute luxury cars to unauthorized addresses.
But a handful of guys were nabbed :
Five hackers charged for Stealing $11 Million in Crypto: prosecutors have charged five members of the Scattered Spider group with stealing $11 million in crypto assets and sensitive data, including from Riot Games, MGM Resorts, and Coinbase, with one defendant already pleading guilty to a SIM-swapping case.
Brothers charged for generating $7 million in sports: Brothers Noor Nabi Chowdhury and Mohammad Rahman were charged for running 247TVStream, an illegal sports streaming service that generated over $7 million from unauthorized redistribution of content. The operation, which lasted from May 2017 to November 2024, caused over $100 million in losses for copyright owners.
Russian national charged for extorting $16 Million: Evgenii Ptitsyn, a 42-year-old Russian national, was charged by the U.S. department of Justice for operating the Phobos ransomware, extorting over $16 million from 1,000+ victims globally. Extradited from South Korea, he faces 13 charges, including wire fraud and computer hacking, with up to 20 years in prison per count.
